Photo Adjustments

This is the first photo I chose to edit. The top is the original, and the bottom the edited one. This was a photo of sunrise.

On this photo I made the color adjustments in gimp. I wanted to make it so that the orange and pink color of the sky stood out a lot more then in the first picture. What I did first was slightly adjust the brightness and contrast. Then I worked on adjustments with the color. The red is what I made to be stronger in the color adjustment so that they sky would stand out more. The final thing I did was adjust the lightness and saturation of the photo. I increased the saturation to make it more vibrant.

For the other set of photos I slightly altered with adjustments on the bottom photograph, again using Gimp. What I first did was increased the saturation and lightness. Then I worked on adjusting the colors. In the bottom photo (the edited one) you can see that the color of my dog appears more red. That is more of her actual color as opposed to the first one where she appears more brown. She is a reddish-brown colored dog so I wanted to make her color more prominent by adjusting the red hues.

  1. Hi
I think that both of your are done very well. The sunset is dramatic, love the intense colors and how they are reflected on the snow and the puppies are warm and vibrant. great editing. Maria

  3. I really like the way you edited the first photo. I like the color behind the trees, which makes them stand out better.
I also like how the color of the dogs gets changed in the edited photo. Looks great!
